In a previous blog, Event Creative provided the 7 steps to planning a perfect corporate event. From pre-event to post-event, we outlined all of the steps required to make it a corporate event to remember. We now want to provide 4 things to consider before you begin following our 7 steps.

1. Consider the Purpose of the Corporate Event: The return of investment for any corporate event is of equal importance to any costs associated with promoting a corporation. Events should generate profit for your corporation in some way, even if the monetary gains are not immediately apparent. Whether it’s to gain and establish new clients or nurture and retain current clients, the event should profit your company in some way.

2. Consider the Date and Schedule of the Corporate Event: When scheduling the event and establishing its flow, you have to consider the attendees and their preferred schedules. What is most convenient to your corporation may not be as convenient for your guests. Do your guests have children at home? Are they in their 20s or are they over the age of 65? Send invitations in the appropriate amount of time, and make sure that the date and time of the event is suitable for the majority of attendees.

3. Consider the Marketing of the Corporate Event: Once you’ve established the purpose of the event and its schedule, you can begin to strategize the marketing for the event. Just like the schedule, the marketing should be tailored to your attendees and any platforms used to market the event should be what your attendees use. Social media, press and media relations, and email marketing should all be considered as part of your marketing strategy.

4. Consider the Backup Plan of the Corporate Event: You have the purpose of the event, its schedule, and all of the marketing ready to go. Now you need to create a backup plan. This plan will have you consider potential bad weather, possible transportation issues, and anything else that could malfunction, delay or spoil the event. The most well considered and planned events are the ones in which any issues go unnoticed because of backup plans.
